The central city of Hoi An will provide free ticket for tourists
visiting the ancient town tomorrow, Friday, on the occasion of the
Heritage Day and the 16th anniversary of Hoi An''s recognition as a world
heritage city by UNESCO.
A series of cultural activities to mark the Vietnam
Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) began last week at ancient sites in
the Old Quarter and downtown HCM City.
Fifty-five artisans have been conferred with titles
of "meritorious artisans" in Ha Noi and HCM City in recognition of their
contribution to preserving and upholding intangible culture values.
Tuyet Sa Pa (Sapa in Winter) by Pham Bang won the first prize in the
single photo category for the subject of nature in the Vietnam Heritage
Photo Awards 2014.
Some 100 photos of Viet Nam and its people are on
display at the third Heritage Photo Exhibition that opened on Wednesday
at the City Museum in Can Tho.
A four-day carnival of cultural activities will dot
the streets of Ha Noi''s Old Quarter to celebrate Viet Nam''s Heritage
Day, officially on November 23.
As many as 60 antiquities, dating from the 14th through 19th centuries,
were donated to the central city''s museum following a donation programme
to mark Viet Nam''s Heritage Day yesterday.

A grand exhibition at Viet Nam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts
(VECCA) will introduce visitors to the cultural and spiritual essence of
the Hong (Red) River Delta, the cradle of ancient Vietnamese
civilisation, in honour of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day (November
23).
